Victoria Lyn Tubbs

After weeks and weeks of busy season, there are a few things one must do to start fresh with a full heart. Here are my recommendations:

  1. Breathe

  2. pray

  3. Sleep

  4. consume chocolate

  5. read inspirational quotes

  6. create something beautiful.

For me, getting back on the horse means giving myself time to CREATE. When you start a photography business, you read all kinds of things about what it takes. They tell you how much time you ACTUALLY spend behind an actual camera, compared to the time spent behind a computer screen; and let me tell you something, BELIEVE IT SISTER.

Wayyyyyy more often than not, your life will seem very “digital”. For myself, this is the hardest part for me. One of the things that I cherish most about being a natural light photographer, is getting to be outdoors and be surrounded by nature. I am inspired when I am outdoors, cut off from technology.

After the busy season of 2015, I really wanted to create something. Where I am from in the Florida panhandle, we have this B-e-a-utiful stretch of untouched, sugar sanded beach dunes. I did not realize how precious and rare they were, until we moved here to Tampa! Now don’t get me wrong, Tampa Bay has some gorgeous beaches, but Navarre, Fl will always be number one in my opinion. Unfortunately due to the foggy and humid weather we had during this session, the photos just don’t do it justice. But if you feel like finding your next perfect vacation spot, just google “Florida’s Emerald Coast” and thank me later… hehe.

Victoria and I connected on social media and I knew right away I wanted to work with her. A few words I would use to describe her would be,

  1. Original

  2. Talented

  3. Creative

  4. Mysterious

  5. Stunning

Victoria is a singer, songwriter, YouTube star, and just an all around exuberant soul. She is just as passionate about her music, as I am about photography and I just love that. One of my favorite things in the world is meeting people who light up from within when they talk about what they do. I truly believe to my core, that whatever you decide you want to do YOU CAN DO. With enough hard work and dedication, you can go anywhere. If you are a hard core American Idol fan, you might have seen her in Hollywood this season. Or if you love watching Youtube makeup videos (guilty!) then you might know her already! If you don’t, I highly recommend giving her a look and supporting a fellow creative.

Being a lover of light, shooting in this foggy weather was not what I had been hoping for. However, I am just grateful it didn't rain and I actually love the end result. Sometimes going out of your comfort zone is the best thing you can do for yourself! Something else I was really happy about was the abundance of Jellyfish that were washed up on shore. Normally this isn't really something you would hope for, but from of a photographer's point-of-view they are freaking awesome.

Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by the blog! And if you made it to the end of this post, I applaud you my friend. Don't forget to take a few steps back every now and then to just CREATE something for yourself. Whatever you love to do whether it's photography, painting, drawing, writing, or styling; just do it for you boo boo... do it for you... ;)

With love and appreciation,

-Samantha
